Progressive Issue Poster/ Video Project

This is the project page for the Progressive Poster or Video.  You will find project outline, required dates, research guidelines, and rubric below. 

Projects are due on Monday March 19th.  No late projects will be accepted,

  • Submit 365 form (#3 )
  • Begin research
    • Start with finding an good overview and print it out
Tuesday (March 13th)
  • Bring printed articles annotated and/or note cards
Thursday (March 16th)
  • Library time
Monday (Monday 19th
  • Due
Wednesday (Monday 21st)
  • Topic projects awarded

Format

Poster
  • Should have title and student name on poster
  • must address all project bullets
  • neat, use of images, and different size text to call out
  • Must use your own poster board or you may use 3-6 Ledger size pages in Word or Publisher and print here at ITC

video
  • Must be less than 5 minutes
  • uploaded to office 365
  • Titled and name of creator in video and file name

Opposing Viewpoints  

  • Topic overview  
  • Key people and dates  
ABC Cleo  
  • Use the US data base by time period, issues, or specific topic 
  • Use overview to identify the key issues and define the issue  
    You may find the person, group, event, or legislation in the overview, timelines, biography, facts and figures, etc. (on left hand side)  
  • Click through to gather the info  
Biography in Context (Use this database if you have identified a specific change agent – person)  
  • Search person’s name 
  • See what is available from the search before you click on first article  
  • You may find legislation, images, etc  
  • Usually you will get a nice overview of issue and person from first article  
Britannica 
  • You will search all day on Britannica if you haven't narrowed down your topic  
  • Once you have specific search terms, this resource is great
